Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Fire Protection Intern to join our Johns Creek, GA team. You will gain exposure to fire protection design on commercial, government, academic, and industrial projects under experienced engineers.

Responsibilities include observing design projects, performing site visits for flow tests, documenting testing for sprinkler and fire alarm systems, and contributing to construction documents under supervision. Strong interest in fire protection engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in ABET-accredited fire protection engineering degree program preferred.
• Introductory knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, CONTAM, and/or FDS modeling software helpful.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Observe and participate in fire protection design projects.
• Conduct site visits with engineers to perform flow tests.
• Document testing for sprinkler, fire alarm, and fire pump systems during site visits.
• Design fire protection and life safety systems under engineer direction.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Review project documents and codes applicable to the discipline.
