Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to perform testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of fire protection systems, including sprinklers and alarms. You will inspect components, read blueprints, and document findings to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

This role requires a high school diploma and a valid driver's license; experience with commercial fire suppression is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Experience with commercial fire suppression systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of fire protection systems.
• Inspect valves, gauges, piping, sprinkler heads, alarm connections, and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and inspection reports.
• Complete inspection reports, deficiency documentation, and service records accurately and on time.
• Travel to job sites as required and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
