Job Title: Fire Protection Inspector

The primary function of this role is to perform NFPA based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The goal is to grow inspection revenues while maintaining profits, satisfying customer requirements, and staying NFPA compliant.

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, customer development, quality work, and understanding NFPA codes. Travel to customer sites is required.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Perform basic troubleshooting of wet-based fire systems and communicate issues for repairs.
2. Perform inspections from man lifts at heights of 30-40 feet.
3. Conduct annual inspections on domestic and fire back flows.
4. Monitor and ensure progress and completion of tasks.
5. Complete and submit work tickets and reports promptly.
6. Self-schedule daily inspections.

Qualifications:

Must be able to perform duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.

Education / Work Experience:

1. Perform NFPA 25 inspections on various fire protection systems.
2. Perform NFPA 72 inspections on fire alarm systems.
3. High school diploma or GED required; vocational/trade school is a plus.
4. Knowledge of fire protection systems: wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, fire pumps.
5. Backflow license and NICET Level II are pluses.
6. Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
7. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, lifts.
8. Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
9. Ability to obtain necessary certifications, including NICET.
10. Lift at least 35 pounds.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
