Job Title: Fire Protection Inspector

The primary function of this role is to perform NFPA-based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The goal is to grow inspection revenues while maintaining profits, satisfying customer requirements, and staying compliant with NFPA guidelines.

This role requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, focusing on customer development, quality work, and understanding NFPA codes supporting each fire system. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Perform basic troubleshooting of wet-based fire systems and communicate repairs to owners and service managers.
2. Perform inspections from man lifts at heights of 30 to 40 feet.
3. Conduct annual inspections on domestic and fire backflows.
4. Monitor and ensure progress and completion of tasks.
5. Complete and submit work tickets and inspection reports promptly.
6. Self-schedule daily inspections.

Qualifications:

Education / Work Experience:

1. Perform NFPA 25 inspections on various fire protection systems.
2. Perform NFPA 72 inspections on fire alarm systems.
3. High school diploma or GED required; vocational or trade school is a plus.
4. Knowledge of fire protection systems: wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, fire pumps.
5. Backflow license and NICET Level II are advantages.
6. Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills required.
7. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
8. Valid driver’s license with a clean record required.
9. Ability to obtain necessary certifications, including NICET.
10. Ability to lift at least 35 pounds.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
