Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Sales Estimator to contract profitable work and grow new accounts while maintaining existing relationships. You will read construction documents, prepare estimates, and coordinate with AHJ and project teams across the Knoxville region.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in estimating/selling fire protection, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office and estimating tools. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years estimating and selling fire protection services.
• Working knowledge of estimating tools and forms.
• Technically proficient in applicable design standards and codes.
• Drafting knowledge/experience in AutoSprink or SprinkCAD preferred, but not required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Coordinates and works well with others.
• Willingness to develop sales and customer service skills.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software; ServiceTrade is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand construction fundamentals and read/interpret construction documents.
• Download documents, set up folders, and complete Excel and Word documents.
• Collaborate with sales staff to prepare estimates efficiently and accurately.
• Enter data for companywide job tracking.
• Provide preliminary system layout and design for estimating projects.
• Communicate with AHJ or other governing agencies.
• Write and submit RFIs during bidding phases.
• Attend RFP sales meetings as required.
• Conduct code research related to projects.
• Review plan room services for future opportunities.
• Complete and maintain contractor/owner pre-qualification forms.
• Manage project portal websites.
• Attend trade shows and set up the booth, remaining available for questions.
• Meet with clients; travel as needed.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts.
• Identify customer preferences to direct sales efforts.
• Provide regular feedback and reports on performance.
• Act as a company representative with clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
