Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Houston seeks a Fire Sprinkler Sales Estimator to contract profitable work and build relationships with new accounts in the region. The role includes estimating, design input, and coordinating bidding efforts.

Responsibilities involve CAD document reading, data entry, collaboration with sales, RFPs, and travel as needed to engage clients and opportunities, while ensuring timely reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years estimating and selling fire sprinkler services or installation.
• Working knowledge of estimating tools and forms.
• Technical proficiency in applicable design standards and codes.
• Drafting knowledge/experience with AutoSprink or SprinkCAD preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate and work well with others.
• Willingness to develop sales and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; ServiceTrade experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand fire sprinkler fundamentals and read CAD documents.
• Perform tasks like downloading documents and completing Excel/Word forms.
• Collaborate with sales staff to prepare estimates accurately and efficiently.
• Create preliminary system layouts for estimating projects.
• Communicate with AHJ or other governing agencies.
• Write and submit RFIs during bidding phases.
• Attend RFP sales meetings as required by management.
• Research codes relevant to projects as needed.
• Review online plan room services for future opportunities.
• Complete and maintain pre-qualification forms and project portals.
• Attend trade shows and meet clients as needed.
• Travel domestically as required.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts.
• Provide feedback and reports regarding performance.
