Description

A Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection, or Mechanical Engineering, minimum

6 years of work experience. Must be Professionally licensed in the United States

Responsibilities and Skills

• Perform engineering calculations and design fire protection systems according to policies, standards, procedures, and codes, exercising judgment with minimal supervision.
• Apply practical knowledge to resolve project-related problems and conflicts, making independent decisions for engineering tasks.
• Supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of discipline-specific and building codes.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and leadership skills to educate clients on design and project requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, and site issues.
• Prepare design budgets and schedules, estimate man-hours, and lead design efforts to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.
• Implement system types, produce construction documents, and review engineering designs for functionality and coordination.
• Maintain client contact, perform quality assurance, and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Set high standards of professional integrity, meet deadlines, and perform additional duties as required.
