Description:

A Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 6 years of work experience. Must be professionally licensed in the United States.

Responsibilities/Skills:

  • Perform engineering calculations, layout, and design systems according to policies, standards, procedures, and codes, exercising judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Apply practical knowledge to resolve project-related problems and conflicts, making independent engineering decisions.
  • Supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers occasionally.
  • Possess knowledge of discipline-specific and building codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills to educate clients on design and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineer and Project Manager on design scope, schedule, budget, and site issues.
  • Assist in preparing design budgets and schedules.
  • Estimate discipline man-hours for project completion.
  • Provide leadership and assign design tasks to team members, ensuring timely and within-budget project completion.
  • Implement system types as per Project Engineer's selection and produce complete construction documents.
  • Review engineering designs for function, clearances, coordination, and final selection; perform final review of drawings.
  • Maintain client contact and perform quality assurance in coordination with the technical team.
  • Mentor and motivate engineering designers.
  • Uphold high standards, professional integrity, and prioritize company and client interests.
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Additional duties as required.
