Description:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection or Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 6 years of work experience. Must be professionally licensed in the United States.
Responsibilities/Skills:
- Perform engineering calculations, layout, and design systems according to policies, standards, procedures, and codes, exercising judgment with minimal supervision.
- Apply practical knowledge to resolve project-related problems and conflicts, making independent engineering decisions.
- Supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers occasionally.
- Possess knowledge of discipline-specific and building codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills to educate clients on design and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Engineer and Project Manager on design scope, schedule, budget, and site issues.
- Assist in preparing design budgets and schedules.
- Estimate discipline man-hours for project completion.
- Provide leadership and assign design tasks to team members, ensuring timely and within-budget project completion.
- Implement system types as per Project Engineer's selection and produce complete construction documents.
- Review engineering designs for function, clearances, coordination, and final selection; perform final review of drawings.
- Maintain client contact and perform quality assurance in coordination with the technical team.
- Mentor and motivate engineering designers.
- Uphold high standards, professional integrity, and prioritize company and client interests.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Additional duties as required.
