Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced fire protection engineer to support the NSFH facility construction within the SFHP. You will provide fire protection engineering oversight across design, construction, and commissioning, with potential to lead small teams as you gain experience.

Preferred background includes fire suppression and alarm systems experience, NFPA standards, and strong technical writing and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse groups

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Master's degree in a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
Doctorate in a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience.
Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Responsibilities

Provide fire protection engineering support during construction of the NSFH facility.
Perform design reviews for fire protection systems and conduct system walkdowns.
Review subcontractor requirements and enforce project standards.
Oversee contractor activities and provide technical oversight across design, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
Possibility to lead small teams as experience grows.
