Job summary

GBA Companies invites engineering students to join our Summer internship in the Fire Protection group in Lenexa, Kansas. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting design calculations, site visits, and collaboration with senior engineers.

You'll work with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office, and you'll rotate through teams to help you identify your path while contributing to live projects. Strong communication and problem-solving are valued.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or another related engineering degree from accredited program.
• 3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software is preferred.
• Experience with architectural/architectural engineering projects or internships is preferred.
• Finished at least two years of school
• Involved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing designs, analyses, calculations, and models related to fire protection systems, life safety systems, and passive fire protection building features.
• Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.
• Follow quality control processes and design standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.
