Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to join our Westminster, CO office. The successful candidate will contribute to fire protection and life safety projects across disciplines, supporting design, analysis, and documentation efforts.

The ideal candidate has a fire protection engineering degree (or related field with fire protection experience), is prepared to work on-site, and is motivated to grow within a collaborative team that values safety and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Sciences (or a related engineering degree with fire protection experience).
3–6 years of relevant experience.
EIT or FE exam, with ability to obtain EIT within one year.
PE licensure is preferred.
Strong communication skills and proficiency with common software tools.

Responsibilities

Perform fire protection design and analysis, including fire protection systems, life safety concepts, and code interpretations.
Prepare life safety plans and perform performance-based design analyses.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and participate in client meetings and presentations.
Utilize AutoCAD, Revit for system designs and documentation.
Support site inspections and witness testing of life safety systems.
