Job summary

Coffman Engineers Inc. is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with ten or more years of experience in consulting engineering and project management.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a history of providing fire protection engineering services to external and internal clients. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, a Fire Protection Engineering license, and flexibility to travel (~20%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from accredited college or university.
• Fire Protection Engineering License by examination issued by any state in the United States
• Minimum of 10 years working experience in the Fire Protection profession
• Travel is required (estimated travel percentage 20%)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation skills
• Ability to work on a high functioning team

Responsibilities

• Performing analysis and design of fire protection systems including suppression, detection, alarm and mass notification systems.
• Performing building and fire code analysis and interpretation
• Managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients while leveraging experience to meet expectations
• Possess project management skills for internal projects and external client needs
• Performing research and documentation for internal and external distribution
• Provide peer reviews of colleagues' work product
• Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations (SFPE and NFPA)
