Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to serve as a subject-matter expert for fire protection and life-safety issues affecting government facilities. You will review design and technical documents to ensure compliance with codes and standards, and identify optimal protection solutions.

You will conduct inspections, witness testing, support governance, and participate in meetings. A 3+ year background, TS/SCI with polygraph, and PE eligibility are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire protection field.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) License before start date.

Responsibilities

• Review planning, programming, architectural, and engineering design documents and other technical documents for proposed construction activities.
• Review and conduct comprehensive fire safety audits, inspections, and investigations of company operations to ensure compliance with fire protections codes and standards.
• Conduct inspections of new construction and renovations to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety aspects.
• Witness acceptance testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment to validate functional compliance.
• Assist with corporate fire protection governance and policy, standard operating procedures, and facility design standards.
• Attend professional meetings within the government to benchmark how industry and other government agencies are addressing similar issues.
• Prepare internal briefings, fact sheets, newsletter articles, and other communications of fire protection and life safety topics and support data collection and metrics development.
• Contribute to the company records and knowledge management activities.
