Job summary

Morrison-Maierle in Boise, ID, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and implement fire protection systems across airports, educational institutions, healthcare, and more. This exempt role offers relocation assistance and a path to growth within a 100% employee-owned firm.

You will collaborate with clients, interpret plans, perform hydraulic calculations, and use REVIT/AutoCAD to develop compliant protection solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
NICET Level III or IV certification required.
Professional Engineering licensure (PE) preferred or ability to obtain after hire.
2+ years' US-based experience in fire protection system design.
Proficiency with design software such as REVIT and AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of plumbing and fire protection codes.
Strong communication, verbal and written.
Proven client growth mindset to pursue business opportunities and win new work.
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

Consult with clients to understand project vision and requirements.
Interpret architectural plans and select protection systems that fit the project scope.
Use design software to build fire protection systems (suppression, sprinkler, smoke detection, alarms).
Perform hydraulic calculations, fire detection, fire pump, and water-storage design, and code analysis.
Conduct fire-resistant construction analysis and inspect existing sprinkler systems.
Research fire protection and life-safety concepts to support design.
Collaborate with Operations Manager to pursue new business opportunities and growth.
