Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer in West Milton, NY to lead design reviews, commissioning, and documentation of fire protection systems in accordance with IBC, IFC and NFPA standards.

The role requires an active DOE clearance or DOD equivalent and involves collaborating with project teams to resolve issues before occupancy and ensuring system reliability and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of fire protection concepts and code compliance.
• Ability to review drawings, specifications and calculations for fire protection systems.
• Experience documenting design reviews, test plans and commissioning activities.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design reviews for new buildings and major renovations.
• Review hydraulic, flow, and demand calculations and system configurations.
• Develop or review commissioning and acceptance test plans for fire protection systems.
• Witness or perform functional and acceptance testing of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Prepare as-built drawings, system narratives and operation documentation.
