Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Fire Protection & Life Safety team in the United States. You will design fire suppression and alarm systems for complex facilities, reporting to the Engineering Team Leader.

Applicants must have a PE license and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Revit experience and CFD modeling knowledge are preferred. Travel to project sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with fire protection focus or related field.
• PE license or ability to obtain PE is required.
• Familiarity with NFPA, IBC and local fire codes; regulatory compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection system layouts and hydraulic calculations.
• Create fire alarm system drawings and construction documents.
• Coordinate designs with architecture, mechanical, electrical and structural teams.
• Review codes and standards to ensure compliance.
• Support permitting and construction phases; participate in site visits.
