Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking a personable Fire Protection Designer to join our Nashville, TN office and lead the design and technical delivery of fire protection systems for a variety of commercial projects.

You will coordinate scope with internal teams and mentor junior staff while advancing your leadership within the fire protection discipline. You’ll contribute to projects across aviation, K-12, higher education, retail, hospitality, and other commercial markets, growing into technical

Qualifications

• 5+ years in design/consulting/construction
• Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering (ABET accredited)
• Willing to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Experience in fire protection design principles for building construction.
• Directly manages the fire protection scope on projects and coordinates with other design staff.
• Operates with a high level of care and work ethic.
• Effective communicator with internal and external team members.
• Ability to work well independently as part of a strong team.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to navigate and prioritize tasks based on complex delivery schedules.
• Assists engineering calculations and analyses using available software.
• Aids in production of 3D fire protection designs using Autodesk Revit.
