Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer to develop layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and to perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems.

The role involves interpreting contract drawings and collaborating with engineers, project teams, and field staff to ensure accurate designs and timely delivery. The candidate will create designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and Revit, contribute to BIM modeling, and generate fabrication lists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in technical/business field.
• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents and drawings.
• Prepare presentations and communicate with stakeholders.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and cost analyses.
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide Fire Sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and Revit.
• Support BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Coordinate material lists and trades.
