Fire Protection Designer – Kansas City, Missouri
As part of the Buildings Group for Garver, this Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for developing fire protection designs in support of various Buildings Business Line projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, design, and commissioning of building fire protection systems, fire suppression systems, and fire alarm systems.
- Coordinate with other support disciplines and regional offices.
- Assist fire protection engineers in the design of building projects.
- Follow quality assurance and quality control plans.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of building fire protection design and construction experience.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection, suppression, and alarm principles.
- Experience in interfacing with project teams on design, delivery, and construction.
- Ability to manage project budget and schedule compliance.
- Familiarity with BIM design software (e.g., Autodesk Revit) to produce construction drawings.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- NICET certification in Fire Protection.
- Experience with AIA MasterSpec.
- Knowledge of Federal Agency design criteria.
