Job summary

Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies in Freehold, NJ is seeking a Designer to accurately design and layout fire protection systems. You will interpret construction documents and prepare shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and installation drawings, coordinating with managers and field staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years of sprinkler design experience, and preferred AutoSPRINK experience; NICET/NFPA credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of fire sprinkler design experience preferred.
• AutoSPRINK experience preferred; CAD/design degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets construction documents such as drawings, specs, manuals, and schedules.
• Prepares fire protection shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, hydraulic calculations, and as-built drawings.
• Prepares material lists for fire protection system components for installation.
• Surveys buildings and sprinkler systems for accurate designs.
• Collaborates with design, project management, and field supervision to deliver deliverables.
