BSF - Boston Fire in Te wksbury, MA is seeking a Fire Service Helper to gain hands-on experience in a skilled trade under seasoned fire safety technicians. You will learn to test, inspect, service, repair, and install fire/life safety equipment per local and state requirements through on-the-job, online, and classroom experiences.

The role emphasizes learning NFPA standards, pursuing licensing, and potential career advancement to a specialized technician role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Desire and ability to learn tactful skills allowing promotion to a specialized technician role.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with customers and team members at all levels.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize initiatives and business goals.
• Must possess the knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions, operating systems, and software applications to complete work.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug and background check.

Responsabilités

• Assist experienced fire technicians on various jobs with the intent of gaining hands-on experience that leads to working independently in a focused area of fire protection with the potential of obtaining industry specific licensing and certifications.
• Read and learn applicable NFPA codes/standards required to obtain licensing and certifications to perform work independently.
• Willingness to work on call (nights, weekends, and/or holidays) when needed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and practices, both for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
