Job summary

BSF - Boston Fire in Tewksbury, MA is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, test, inspect, service, and repair fire alarm systems. You will respond to emergency calls, troubleshoot devices, and generate inspection reports to restore systems to normal operation.

The role requires travel to customer locations, adherence to safety protocols, and strong problem-solving skills. Prior fire alarm experience is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional fire alarm certifications or training preferred.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and ability to read electrical schematics.
• Experience as a Fire Alarm Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to install, service, and upgrade fire alarm systems.
• Respond to emergencies during and after hours to address safety concerns.
• Perform annual and semi-annual inspections of Life Safety Systems.
• Document inspection and service reports with findings and corrections.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in fire alarm systems and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors, and team members for efficient installations.
• Maintain accurate records of work and inventory.
• Provide technical guidance on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
