Job summary

Griffin Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma is seeking a Fire Prevention & Safety Officer to inspect buildings, enforce fire laws, and provide security for state property and staff.

Two full-time shifts are available: 6:30am–5:00pm and 1:00pm–11:30pm. Level I salary $14.18/hour; Level II $15.14/hour. This is a non-exempt position with travel and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Level I: No education/experience required.
• Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings/grounds for fire hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide assistance to employees/visitors and direct traffic as needed.
• Perform other duties related to protection of state property, staff and visitors.

Fire Prevention & Safety Officer

About the Position:

Incumbents are assigned responsibilities, involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security at Griffin Memorial Hospital.

Typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.

• This is a Full-time shift position
• 2 positions available!
  • Opening 1: 6:30am to 5:00pm
  • Opening 2: 1:00pm to11:30pm
• Annual Salary:
  • Level I: $14.18/hourly
  • Level II: $15.14/hourly

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration.

Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work

Special Requirements:

• Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally, and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
• Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
