Qualifications

• Must keep certifications current per NC requirements and maintain ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of commercial and multi-family structures for code compliance.
• Review building plans for fire safety measures such as sprinklers and alarms.
• Enforce fire codes for new construction and existing buildings.
• Provide public fire safety education and prevention programs.
• Investigate origins and causes of fires and prepare detailed reports.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with large-scale incidents as needed.
