Qualifications

• Considerable experience in fire prevention, fire suppression, and fire investigation.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• North Carolina Driver’s License required.
• North Carolina Certified Firefighter - Fire Inspector Level I with ability to obtain Level II within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect businesses, group homes, schools, and facilities for fire-code compliance.
• Perform fire plan reviews and issue permits under supervision.
• Assist in fire origin and cause investigations with law enforcement.
• Respond to emergencies including hazardous materials and mass casualty events.
• Coordinate training for emergency services and educational facilities.
