Job summary

BurnBot is seeking a Fire Operations Specialist to provide middle leadership oversight of Fire Modules and field-based project management. The role balances 40/60 administrative and field duties with extensive travel to remote sites, strong safety focus, and coordination with BurnBot Directors.

This exempt role offers a salary in the posted range and requires NWCG certifications and firefighting experience.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel up to 60%.
• NWCG ENGB or CRWB, ICT5, RXB3 certifications preferred.
• 5+ years in forestry, fuels mitigation, vegetation management, or wildland fire ops.
• Demonstrated experience supervising fire crews.
• Experience working with public agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Strong knowledge of prescribed and wildfire operations and field safety standards.
• Physical ability to perform demanding field work (lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Oversee Fire Modules and provide supervisory support across multiple crews/sites.
• Ensure safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism align with company standards.
• Provide guidance, direction, and corrective action to module leadership.
• Maintain safety performance oversight across operations.
• Ensure compliance with burn plans, project plans and regulatory requirements.
• Own operational reporting: Production, Safety, Equipment, Labor, Budget.
