Job summary

Convergentz, a division of The Hunton Group, seeks a Fire Life and Safety Inspector in Houston, TX. You will perform inspections and testing of fire protection systems, including alarms, sprinklers, pumps, extinguishers, and suppression systems, ensuring safety and compliance.

You will mentor junior technicians, document findings with photos, and communicate status to clients. Candidates should have 3+ years in the field, NFPA knowledge, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience inspecting and installing fire protection systems.
• Ability to read and interpret fire system design drawings.
• Experience with wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems.
• Familiarity with antifreeze systems, backflows, and fire pumps.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes NFPA 13 and NFPA 20.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards and best practices.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual, quarterly, and 5-year inspections and testing of fire protection systems.
• Inspect and service systems including fire alarm, sprinkler, pumps, extinguishers, hood and total flood suppression.
• Support and guide field installers and junior technicians to ensure safe, high-quality work.
• Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers regarding system status and deficiencies.
• Accurately complete inspection reports with documentation and photos.
• Manage time across multiple inspection projects.
• Train and mentor less experienced team members.
