Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Houston, TX is seeking an entry-level installer/helper to assist with the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems. The role provides hands-on training and exposure to fire alarm systems while supporting safe, efficient, and code-compliant field work.

This position offers on-the-job learning, teamwork, and opportunities for career growth within a large Southeast-based fire protection company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; construction or electrical experience is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude preferred; ability to obtain required licenses as applicable.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of fire alarm devices, wiring, conduit, and equipment.
  • Support testing and inspection of fire alarm systems under supervision.
  • Help identify and document deficiencies or issues discovered during service or inspections.
  • Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site in accordance with safety standards.
  • Follow project instructions, drawings, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting as skills develop.
  • Participate in required safety meetings and training.
