Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Intermediate Consultant - Fire and Life Safety Engineer in New York, NY. You will work with our Fire and Life Safety Team on multi-site due diligence, design, installation, testing and inspection of fire protection systems in public and private sectors.

Responsibilities include code interpretation, design development, and documentation to meet safety standards. Collaboration with clients and internal teams is essential to deliver high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret building code and life safety requirements (ICC/NFPA, IBC/NFPA 101).
• Review architectural drawings for code compliance.
• Design fire protection and life safety systems (sprinklers, detectors, alarms, smoke control, egress).
• Carry out and review fire engineering calculations (hand to 3D modeling).
• Assist in commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Prepare technical reports/specifications.
