Job summary

The Riverside Church in the City of New York seeks a part-time Fire and Life Safety Director to oversee fire safety, emergency planning, and building safety for staff, congregants, and visitors. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire safety, security management, or emergency response.
• Experience working in a religious or non-profit institution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with NYC FDNY, OSHA, and other applicable fire and life safety regulations.
• Develop, implement, and oversee fire safety programs and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular fire and life safety inspections and identify risks.
• Lead fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency training for staff and congregants.
• Maintain fire safety systems and ensure they are in proper working order.
• Act as liaison with FDNY, emergency services, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure Fire and Life Safety Plans, EAPs, and BICs are up to date with FDNY regulations.
• Monitor and supervise fire safety staff and coverage for all shifts.
• Maintain documentation and reports related to fire and life safety procedures.
• Respond promptly to any fire or life safety emergencies.
