Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Duluth, GA is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to inspect, repair, and test extinguishers using hand tools and hydrostatic equipment onsite. You will dismantle units, replace worn parts, recharge with approved agents, test compliance, install mounting cabinets, and support sales.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or 1–3 years related experience). Training and experience in extinguishers and related systems are preferred for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle extinguishers and inspect tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects. Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Clean extinguishers and recharge with various agents, including soda water and sulfuric acid, carbon tetrachloride, nitrogen, or patented solutions or other.
• Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications.
• Install cabinets and brackets to hold extinguishers.
• Facilitate and support sales of fire extinguishers.

Summary

Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices. Hydro-test high pressure cylinders. Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replace worn or damaged parts.
