Job summary

Impact Fire Services, LLC in Waco, Texas is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to perform maintenance and inspections on residential and commercial extinguishers. This role offers apprenticeship paths and training through experienced mentors to advance in fire protection careers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in the fire protection industry is preferred.
  • Texas State Fire Marshal license in fire extinguisher and pre-engineered systems (FEL-B, FEL-K or FEL-A).
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and building/fire codes is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on fire extinguishers.
  • Repair, replace, fill and tag fire extinguishers as needed.
  • Perform service and testing on extinguishers; complete reports.
  • Complete electronic or handwritten inspection reports accurately and timely.
  • Document time worked and related paperwork for assigned tasks.
  • Assist scheduling and complete duties; work independently with provided PPE.

Position is located out of our Waco, Texas district office.

The Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on fire extinguishers in both residential and commercial spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Performance of daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various sized fire extinguishers
  • Repair, replace, fill and tag all fire extinguishers
  • Service and test
  • Complete electronic and/or handwritten inspection reports
  • Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Assist the scheduling and completion of assigned dutiesAbility to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment
Required Experience & Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in the fire protection industry
  • Possess Texas State Fire Marshal license in fire extinguisher and pre-engineered systems (including FEL-B, FEL-K or FEL-A)
  • Possess an understanding of NFPA and building and fire codes is a plus
  • Able to communicate effectively; both verbally and written
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Professional appearance

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
