Job summary

Johnson Controls in Louisville, KY is seeking a Shop Technician to perform service and maintenance on fire extinguishers in a fixed-location shop environment with no travel. You will help keep equipment ready for use, maintain accurate service records, and support a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Responsibilities include recharge and testing, six- and twelve-year maintenance, completing reports and paperwork, and ensuring PPE compliance. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; on-the-job training provided.
• Capability to operate hand tools and handle lifting tasks up to 50 lbs.
• Strong written and verbal communication for records and reports.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Willingness to pass licensing, drug test, background check, and BMV check.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and maintenance on fire extinguishers, including recharging, testing, and six- and twelve-year maintenance.
• Accurately complete reports, inspection tags, and maintenance records.
• Maintain shop equipment, organize work area, and ensure safety and PPE compliance.
• Use hand tools safely and perform repetitive production tasks as required.
• Participate in meetings and support business goals.
