Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring for a Fire Protection Technician to maintain and grow a route servicing fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, e-lights, and possibly engineered gas systems. You will inspect, service, and install multiple suppression product lines, ensuring compliance with safety codes and manufacturer specifications.

The role emphasizes on-site quotes, repairs, and on-going customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School diploma or equivalency.
• A valid motor vehicle license is required.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work in restricted areas and maneuver ladders.
• Excellent customer service and communication with internal and external customers; occasional overnight travel.
• Preferred Kitchen Hood experience; knowledge of NFPA standards and dangerous goods is a plus.
• 1+ years of Kitchen Hood experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a route servicing existing fire suppression customers (fire extinguishers, kitchen hood, e-light, and possibly engineered gas systems).
• Inspect, service, repair and install two or more suppression product lines per safety and manufacturer specs.
• Make recommendations based on manufacturer specifications and state/local codes.
• Identify deficiencies and address them on-site.
• Quote, sell, and repair on-site; upsell existing customers to new products and services to meet current codes.
• Sell new accounts on the route based on compliance criteria.
• Meet or exceed quotas set by the supervisor.
