Job summary
Metro Safety & Fire, Inc. seeks a full-time Shop Technician - Cylinder Testing in Portland, OR.
The role supports field service and front office by maintaining our fire extinguisher pool, stocking tested cylinders, and performing service for walk-in clients. You will follow manufacturer specifications and NFPA 10, use Inspection Software and Microsoft Office to forecast demand, complete the Portland FIT training in 12 weeks, and progress toward ICC Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician
Qualifications
- Warranty-compliant extinguisher servicing to manufacturer specs and NFPA 10.
- Willingness to complete Portland FIT training in 12 weeks and pursue ICC certification within 1–2 years.
- Computer literacy required for inventory forecasting and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support field service and front-office teams by stocking tested cylinders and maintaining inventory.
- Perform fire extinguisher servicing per standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Present and conduct in-house Fire Extinguisher Training Course.
