Job summary

Metro Safety & Fire, Inc. is hiring a Shop Technician - Cylinder Testing (FT) in Portland, OR. You will support field service, maintain inventory, and service fire extinguishers for walk-in customers while adhering to NFPA 10 and manufacturer specs.

You'll start at $20.00/hour with progression to $32.00/hour over 2–3 years of training, plus a strong benefits package including PTO, health/dental plans, and a 401k with employer match.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with the ability to forecast production demand.
• Self-sufficient in a hands-on shop role and learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fire extinguisher inventory and ensure stocked tested cylinders.
• Service extinguishers to manufacturer specifications and NFPA 10.
• Forecast production demand using Inspection Software and Microsoft Office.
• Assist in teaching the in-house Fire Extinguisher Training Course.
