Job summary

Bastrop-Travis Counties ESD No. 1 is seeking a full-time Lieutenant to support operations across Elgin, McDade, and parts of Eastern Travis County.

The Lieutenant will supervise Apparatus Operator and Firefighters, respond to a range of emergencies, and perform administrative tasks under the Battalion Chief and Fire Chief. Required qualifications include EMT-B, Driver Operator-Pumper, Officer I, Instructor I, DSHS EMS certification, NIMS 100-800, and related trainings; a 48/96 shift and a strong

Qualifications

• Must hold EMT-B certification and be eligible for Texas EMS licensure.
• Driver Operator-Pumper certification required.
• NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 knowledge helpful.
• Officer I and Instructor I certifications are required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise fire suppression operations as Lieutenant.
• Establish command at incidents per policy and NIMS.
• Maintain apparatus and PPE in readiness and complete records.
• Coordinate with other emergency service agencies during incidents.
