Job summary

Lake Travis Fire Rescue in Austin, TX, seeks an Assistant Fire Chief of Operations and Emergency Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Operations Division. The position reports to the Fire Chief and sits on the district's command staff.

The successful candidate will oversee fire suppression, emergency medical services, medical transport operations, hazardous materials response, and emergency management, coordinating with external agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field and 10+ years command experience.
• Must hold the rank of Captain (or higher) and TCFP certifications.
• Experience withfire suppression, EMS, hazmat, and emergency management operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Operations Division.
• Report to the Fire Chief or designee and participate on the District’s command staff.
• Coordinate activities with outside agencies and manage complex multi-agency projects.
• Plan, direct and review fire suppression, EMS, and hazardous materials response activities.
• Develop and administer department policy and budgets; ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
