Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a life-safety technician to maintain and repair fire alarm and suppression systems at Fort Greely, Alaska. You will install, inspect, and function-test systems per manufacturer guidance and NFPA standards, and troubleshoot complex controls.

The role requires four years in fire alarm/electrical work, NICET II, high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance.

Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience in the fire alarm maintenance and/or electrical field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • NICET II Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and function-test fire alarm and suppression systems per manufacturer guidance and NFPA standards.
  • Identify faulty components through visual inspection and device-level diagnostics; replace as needed.
  • Verify initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter operation; correct deficiencies.
  • Read pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers; recharge or replace containers.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams and control schematics to locate failures quickly.
  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal/written instructions.
  • Partner with other trades and warehouse teams to secure correct materials and assemblies; support periodic stock inventories and requisitions.
  • Diagnose system failures and determine the appropriate corrective action.
  • Assist other departments and trade groups as operational needs arise; perform other duties as assigned.
