Job summary

International Association-Fire Chiefs is seeking a Fire Data Analyst & Technology Specialist to transform raw operational, incident, and administrative data into actionable intelligence for data-driven decision-making and service delivery.

The role supports GIS, RMS systems, dashboards, and reporting for regulatory compliance and performance trends, enabling evidence-based planning and resource deployment. Collaborate with command staff to respond to data requests and ensure data quality.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for data analysis and information from command staff by querying records management systems and creating the reports.
• Gather data and interpret, analyze, and prepare reports and surveys as well as interpret project results and outcomes.
• Develop reports on CAD data and response times, apparatus and equipment maintenance, risk management, community risk assessment data, and incident report data.
• Analyze incident data to identify high-risk locations, repeat incidents, and emerging hazards.
• Responsible for GIS applications, providing mapping and GIS support.
• Identify service gaps and recommend deployment or staffing adjustments.
• Support strategic planning with evidence-based insights.
• System administrator for RMS including fire/EMS reporting, inspection reports, training records, and equipment.
• Review reports for accuracy of incident data, maintain readiness for ISO/OSHA reviews, and handle audits.
• Provide legally defensible data for litigation, insurance, and public records requests.
• Develop dashboards for command staff showing real-time metrics and historical trends.
• Create specialized reports for training needs, apparatus replacement planning, and incident type forecasting.
• Monitor unit utilization, apparatus usage, station workload, and resource deployment efficiency.
