This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with fire and life safety requirements, maintaining fire protection systems, supporting emergency preparedness efforts, and partnering with site leadership, facilities personnel, and contractors.

Overview

Inter-Con Security Systems is seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Chief to oversee fire protection and life safety operations at a large industrial facility in Parma, Ohio. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with fire and life safety requirements, maintaining fire protection systems, supporting emergency preparedness efforts, and partnering with site leadership, facilities personnel, and contractors.

The ideal candidate will possess strong fire protection knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to balance operational responsibilities with administrative and compliance-related duties.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Protection & Life Safety

• Oversee and maintain all fire protection and life safety systems throughout the facility.
• Conduct routine visual inspections of fire prevention and fire suppression systems.
• Support compliance with applicable fire and life safety regulations.
• Assist with emergency preparedness planning and response activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for fire protection and life safety matters.

Construction & Contractor Oversight

• Monitor construction and renovation projects impacting fire protection systems.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with fire and life safety requirements.
• Partner with facilities personnel on maintenance and infrastructure projects.
• Support the implementation of fire protection improvements and upgrades.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Work closely with site leadership, facilities personnel, security leadership, and contractors.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Help promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete reports and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain inspection records and compliance documentation.
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, for reporting and recordkeeping.
• Track and organize operational and compliance-related information.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience in:
• Fire services
• Fire prevention
• Fire protection systems
• Emergency response
• Industrial safety
• Related fields
• Working knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or large-facility environment.
• Experience overseeing contractors or construction-related projects.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Familiarity with inspections, audits, and compliance programs.
