Job summary

The City of Odessa, Texas is seeking a motivated individual to join the Fire Department's support teams. The role focuses on completing EMT training through the Texas DSHS and pursuing a Basic Fire Certification with TCFP while gaining hands-on experience across divisions.

You will assist in mail, supply runs, dispatch, inspections, and training activities, while maintaining high standards of safety and public service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral/written instructions.
• Ability to work under hazardous conditions and with the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist Support Division with mail, deliveries, and errands.
• Assist Administrative Staff as needed.
• Begin training toward EMT certification.
• Spend time in Fire Dispatch learning dispatch operations.
• Assist at fire stations with inspections, education programs, and projects.
• Support Training Division with training opportunities.
• Maintain familiarity with FD SOPs and attend regularly.
