Job summary

Prince George County is seeking an Apparatus Technician to maintain, diagnose, repair and modify fire and rescue vehicles and equipment. The role requires knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in emergency vehicle maintenance and the ability to read diagrams and repair charts.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with five years journeyman-level experience in fire apparatus maintenance, or an associate degree in automotive technology with two years hands-on emergency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with five years journeyman-level experience in fire apparatus maintenance.
• Associate degree in automotive technology with two years hands-on emergency vehicle experience.
• Class B CDL or EVOC required within 12 months; Virginia State Inspector's License preferred; EVT/ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, repair and modify fire and rescue vehicles and equipment.
• Read diagrams, sketches and repair charts; interpret and follow instructions.
