Qualifications

• Previous professional parts experience in an automotive dealership, heavy-duty truck dealership, fleet operation, or similar repair environment.
• Strong working knowledge of parts research, ordering, receiving, inventory control, and vendor management.
• Ability to understand vehicle systems and communicate effectively with experienced technicians.
• Strong computer and data-entry skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Research parts using VINs, serial numbers, OEM catalogs, diagrams, vendor resources, and repair history.
• Verify part numbers, applications, quantities, and availability before placing orders.
• Source components from OEMs, manufacturers, dealerships, distributors, and specialty fire-apparatus vendors.
• Obtain pricing, availability, freight information, and delivery dates.
• Maintain accurate records of open parts orders and follow up with vendors.
• Receive parts and verify shipments against POs and packing slips.
• Label parts with unit and repair order numbers and stage them for technicians.
• Coordinate with Service Manager to establish priorities and monitor repair orders.
• Serve as the primary parts resource for technicians and ensure correct parts are matched to RO.
