Job summary

RapidFire Safety & Security in Riverside, CA seeks a Fire Alarm and Security Technician to install, program, and maintain access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems. You will install components and wiring, follow electrical codes, and test systems.

Candidates should have experience with Maxxess, Bosch, DMP and Ubiquiti, strong safety focus, and ability to explain system features to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, programming, and maintaining security systems.
• Familiar with Maxxess, Bosch, DMP and Ubiquiti platforms.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 or electrical codes.
• Strong safety and attention to detail.
• Must pass background check and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and or service low voltage systems such as access control, video, intrusion alarm, fire alarm and intercoms.
• Having experience working with Maxxess, Bosch, DMP, and Ubiquiti systems is required.
• Inspect Fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 requirements.
• Install cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
• Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms
• Perform installation or service in accordance with work orders, building plans, and manufacture installation manuals.
• Determine material requirements and installation procedures
• Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning or to diagnose malfunctions
• Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or faulty equipment.
• Maintain & protect company vehicle, tools, hardware, and equipment to be installed on projects

Job Summary

The Fire Alarm and Security Technician position is responsible for safely installing, programming, and maintaining access control, video surveilance, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems equipment & wiring. This position will install individual components and various wiring throughout sites, following necessary electrical codes & procedures, and according to instructions provided. This position will also test various systems & components, repairing as necessary according to system specifications.

Responsibilities

• Install and or service low voltage systems such as access control, video, intrusion alarm, fire alarm and intercoms.
• Having experience working with Maxxess, Bosch, DMP, and Ubiquiti systems is required.
• Inspect Fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 requirements.
• Install cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping. Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors. Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant electrical codes
• Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms
• Perform installation or service in accordance with work orders, building plans, and manufacture installation manuals. Determine material requirements and installation procedures
• Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning or to diagnose malfunctions
• Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or faulty equipment.
• Maintain & protect company vehicle, tools, hardware, and equipment to be installed on projects

Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements

• Excellent technical skills (installation, repair, and troubleshooting)
• Experience with Maxxess access control, Bosch security and video systems, DMP systems, and Ubiquiti networking and wireless equipment. Proficiency with all four platforms is required.
• Knowledge of current electrical/system codes & regulations
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Must pass background check and have clean driving record
• Knowledge of basic electricity theory

Salary Description

$30-45/hour
