Job summary

RapidFire Safety & Security is seeking a Fire Alarm and Security Technician to install, program, and maintain access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems. You will run low voltage wiring, test systems, and ensure compliance with electrical codes at job sites.

Responsibilities include demonstrating systems to customers, troubleshooting faults, and maintaining tools and vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, programming, and maintaining fire life safety and security systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical codes.
• Pass background check and maintain clean driving record.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Team player with customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and service low voltage systems such as access control, video, intrusion alarm, fire alarm and intercoms.
• Having experience working with Maxxess, Bosch, DMP, and Ubiquiti systems is required.
• Inspect Fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 requirements.
• Install cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
• Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms
• Perform installation or service in accordance with work orders, building plans, and manufacture installation manuals. Determine material requirements and installation procedures
• Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning or to diagnose malfunctions
• Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or faulty equipment.
• Maintain & protect company vehicle, tools, hardware, and equipment to be installed on projects
