Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire and Safety Low Voltage Technician based in the San Diego shipyards. The Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage fire alarm systems, security systems, and other safety equipment. Day-to-day tasks include system inspections, troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and working alongside team members to optimize operational performance. The role also involves maintaining detailed service reports and communicating effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, fire alarms, and security equipment
• Knowledge of safety protocols, regulations, and compliance requirements related to fire and safety systems
• Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work collaboratively on-site and maintain effective communication with team members and clients
• Familiarity with power tools and safety equipment used in system installation and maintenance
• Possession of relevant technical certifications or licenses is a plus
• High school diploma or GED required; additional vocational training or associate degree in a related field preferred
• Ability to lift equipment and carry out physically demanding tasks as required
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
