Job summary

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA is seeking a Fire and Life Safety Technician to conduct fire drills, maintain life safety systems, and ensure compliance with current fire and safety codes across hospital facilities. The role includes developing and delivering fire safety training to hospital staff.

The official title is ARMC Safety Technician; availability may include night/weekend shifts as required.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in fire prevention, fire inspection, fire protection systems, fire code enforcement, fire suppression systems, life safety compliance, or a related fire service or fire protection field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an acute care hospital or healthcare environment with responsibilities related to Environment of Care, Life Safety, Facilities Management, accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, fire and life safety inspections, building systems, or healthcare operations.
  • Substitution: An associate’s degree in Fire Science, Fire Protection Technology, Occupational Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field can substitute for 1 year of experience.

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Fire and Life Safety Technician* who under general supervision conducts fire drills and ensures the maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection of hospital fire and life safety systems are compliant with current fire and safety codes. Performs fire prevention/planning and develops and conducts fire and life safety training for hospital employees; performs related duties as required.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC)is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
