Job summary

American Fire Protection Group in College Station, TX is hiring a Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, service and inspect fire alarm systems for commercial customers. The role includes on-call rotations and requires strong licensing and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • FAL License with a minimum of 3+ years of experience.
  • Gamewell / FCI Certification.
  • Fire Alarm programming experience.
  • Service and troubleshooting experience.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal communication.
  • Customer-focused and customer-driven mindset.
  • Thrive in the face of uncertainty.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High School degree or the equivalent.
  • Electronic Trade School training is a plus.
  • Must obtain and retain any licenses required by state/local codes.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background, and reference check.

Responsibilities

  • Install and program fire protection alarm systems for commercial applications (including piping, valves, and accessories).
  • Service, test, and inspect fire alarm systems.
  • Document time worked and all paperwork related to tasks in a timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate documentation for work performed, complete monthly vehicle reports, and maintain truck inventory.
  • Documentation of time/work via inspection and service platforms and 3rd party sites.
  • On-call service rotation is required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers; upsell AFPG services (SHAD, sprinkler installation, monitoring).
  • Arrive on the job on time, ready to work, every day.
  • Maintain tools and vehicles; adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively—verbal and written.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and attention to detail.
