Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to independently perform core functions related to service of fire alarm systems. You will diagnose issues, perform standard service calls, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with codes while maintaining detailed service records.

The role requires at least two years in the fire and life safety industry, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as a technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting methods.
• Experience with security systems and access control is a plus.
• Experience with BDA systems are a plus.
• Must be willing to be in a on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
• Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
• Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Must be willing to perform maintenance, inspections and some small retrofits and installation of fire alarms.
